CoreWeave is a neocloud: it buys NVIDIA GPUs, installs them in data centers it leases or builds, and sells GPU time to AI labs and hyperscalers. That model is capital-hungry, and the guidance shows it.
| Measure | Figure |
|---|---|
| 2026 capex guidance (latest) | $35-39 billion |
| Earlier 2026 guidance | $30-35B, then $31-35B |
| Q3 2026 capex guidance | $11.5-13.5 billion |
| Active power (Q2 2026) | ~1.5 GW, nearly 500 MW added in the quarter |
| Contracted power | 3.7 GW at Q2, 4.2 GW since |
| Revenue backlog (Q2 2026) | about $104 billion |
| Customer prepayments on new deals | ~50-60% of capex |
CoreWeave has said it aims to add about 5 GW more capacity by 2030. Every one of those megawatts needs a building, a substation and cooling before the first GPU is switched on.
